The main benefits of giving your valuable time to belong to the GFWC Tampa Junior Woman's Club are:

Together we identify the needs of our community and work to meet those needs. We conduct monthly meetings in which we invite speakers to share important community issues. Our members grow by sharing ideas, making new friends and working together to make a difference in our community.

The GFWC Tampa Junior Woman's Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization.

Tampa Juniors was founded in 1935. We are members of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs (GFWC) established in 1890. The GFWC is an international organization with over 10 million members in 30 countries. Over the years the GFWC has grown into one of the largest organization of volunteer women with the motto of "Unity in Diversity".

ACTIVITIES

The Tampa Juniors provides many ways for you to get involved in your community, as well as to get involved with the club in a leadership or planning capacity. Events we have participated in include:
  • Organized parties for the children at Hillsborough Community Services
  • Volunteered at the Victorian Stroll at the Tampa Plant Museum
  • Participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life on Davis Island in Spring 2007
  • Held a softball game for the special needs cub scout troupe from Roosevelt Elementary that we sponsor
  • Provided four $500 dollar scholarships to graduating seniors through our TIGER scholarship in May 2007
  • Raised $2,000 at our 2nd annual golf tournament fundraiser in Fall 2003
  • Raised $1,000 at our Oktoberfest fundraiser in Fall 2006
  • Marched in the Gasparilla Children’s Parade with the Roosevelt Cub Scout Troup
  • Brought our pets to provide pet therapy to residents at Hudson Manor
  • Decorating the dining room at the Tampa Crossroads, a halfway house for women
